The Lumix 25mm 1.7 is a small, light weight and buttery smooth shallow depth of field lens. The lens construction incorporates one UHR element pairs with two aspherical elements to reduce chromatic aberrations and distortions for consistent edge-to-edge sharpness and illumination.

The build quality is adequate. It's a plastic body with a metal lens mount. For the price, image quality is very good, it's responsive and quick to focus. Images produced by this lens are sharp, detailed and you can get excellent bokeh. The autofocus is precise, quiet and fast on Lumix G7.

Rounded seven-blade diaphragm produces a smooth out-of-focus quality when working with shallow depth of field techniques.

The normal prime Panasonic 25mm F1.7 lens is designed for Micro Four Thirds mirrorless cameras, this lens provides a 50mm equivalent focal length to represent a normal perspective. It is well-suited for both still photography and videos. The photos taken wide open seem sharp at 100% magnification, from edge to edge.

It is compact, lightweight which is perfect for traveling, and most important takes excellent pictures. The Lumix 25mm 1.7 lens covers a great ground for both street and portrait photography. It provides great portraits with a very pleasant blurred background.

Low Light Situations

The Panasonic 25mm 1.7 works great in low light and all photos seem very sharp, and it is great lens for the money. While it does not have image stabilization IS, it features a very fast aperture of 1.7 which is great for low light situations. The lens is much brighter than 14-42mm kit lens, so good for indoor photos without flash.

A softness or vignetting at the corners is not noticeable. It is sharp edge to edge, corner to corner at any f stop. Distortion is practically non-existing, corner shading is minimal. Panasonic H-H025 may be a little softer in the corners, and perhaps not as razor sharp as the highly regarded Leica DG 25mm 1.4, but at this price is a bargain.

For the price, image quality in daylight is very good, it's responsive and quick to focus. Images produced by this lens are sharp and the bokeh is pleasing. Autofocus during video is completely silent and fast.

Rounded seven-blade diaphragm produces a smooth out-of-focus quality when working with shallow depth of field techniques.

Photos taken with Lumix 45-150mm F4.0-5.6 lens

The mid-range zoom Panasonic 45-150 F4-5.6 lens is designed for Micro Four Thirds mirrorless cameras, this lens provides a 90-300mm equivalent focal length range to cover a variety of telephoto perspectives. It has been designed for both still-picture and video photography.

It is compact enough for travel, light weight, and most important takes excellent pictures. The Lumix 45-150mm lens covers a great ground for both street and wildlife photography. It's great for outdoor shots and places where lighting conditions aren't too dim. It provides great portraits with a very pleasant blurred background.

Mega O.I.S.

The Panasonic 45-150mm Mega OIS lens is great for adding the extra stabilization to G7 camera. Mega O.I.S. compensates for camera shake in order to realize sharper photos and videos when shooting handheld.

The zooming is quite smooth as is the focus ring, pictures are great. Some softness appears at 45mm and wide open F/4 sharpness is good except in the lower left corner where it is a bit smeary and lacking definition. Difference in image quality of Panasonic H-FS45150 at 45mm does not match the sharpness of a prime lens like the Olympus 45mm F1.8

The Lumix 14-140mm II covers a great ground for both landscape, and some wildlife photography. It's great for outdoor shots and places where lighting conditions aren't too dim. The lens works well in high ISO so you actually can get more use with this lens in lower light situations.

Power O.I.S.

The Panasonic 14-140mm Power OIS lens is great for adding the extra stabilization to G7 camera. Power O.I.S. compensates for camera shake in order to realize sharper photos and videos when shooting handheld.

The zooming is butter smooth from wide to telephoto, pictures are great. Some softness appears at F3.5 in the corners, but not enough to cause issues. Difference in image quality of Panasonic H-FSA14140 at 20mm vs 20mm F1.7 pancake is barely noticeable.

Panasonic G7 is a perfect camera for shooting video in 4K, as well as a handy little camera for still photography. The Lumix G7 is a fast, responsive, hybrid photo / video capture camera. This is a very capable camera with great ergonomics. The autofocus is very fast and accurate. The Panasonic G7 kit lens is very sharp. Minimal noise at ISO 1600, if you pushed it to 3200 and the picture quality still great.

Is Panasonic G7 good for photography?

The possibilities for creative photography in both stills and video is extraordinary. The portability, versatility and image quality of the G7 with the 14-140mm lens is amazing. If you plan on shooting lots of sports and action, fast-moving kids or pets, as well as nature or street photography, this camera is a great buy. Easy to control, both manual and automatic setting work exactly as expected, picture quality is great. Exact same sensor and image quality as GH4 (especially in 4k) but with less noise, the G7 does produces very nice images.
