The Olympus M.Zuiko 17mm F1.8 lens features the Movie & Still Compatible mechanism, or MSC. This technology provides amazingly fast and nearly silent autofocus operation. With the ring in the auto focus position, you can either use AF or switch to manual focus using the camera controls.

Rounded seven-blade diaphragm produces a smooth out-of-focus quality when working with shallow depth of field techniques.

The camera's auto focus in low light is not the best, AF speed is lens dependent. The kit 12-60mm is not a low light lens, but provides very good image, and the 24-120 range is great for most things in photography.
